At present, the Internet is convenient for people's life. Many people have the experience of online takeout. Open meituan, hungry you and other apps to place an order directly, and all kinds of packaged food will be delivered directly to the door. However, while taking out brings great richness and convenience to our diet, many people will also have some concerns - take out food is stored in disposable plastic boxes and bowls, are these plastic tableware safe and sanitary? Is it bad for our health to eat like this every day?

Plastic tableware makes life easier

With the rapid development of economy and society and the acceleration of work rhythm, people are increasingly pursuing a safe, healthy, convenient and exquisite life. Because of this, disposable products are sweeping the world. Disposable plastic lunch boxes, bowls, drink cups, straws and other products meet the needs of consumers for convenient, fast, clean and other modern life, but also form a large-scale industrial cluster and industrial chain.

Big data shows that at present, three out of every 10 Chinese are takeout users, which can generate more than 20 million takeout every day. Due to the convenience, portability and quantity control, the overall demand of disposable PP plastic tableware in the food and beverage packaging market continues to grow.

"For the restaurant, the most important thing is how to ensure that the takeout is delivered to the customers within 25 minutes to an hour, and that the dishes are basically the same color, fragrance, taste and shape as when they are out of the pot. "The owner of a chain restaurant said that Chinese food forms are particularly rich and complex. The paper tableware with soup and water can't be guaranteed. Only plastic tableware can be used.

"With the rapid development of online ordering, plastic lunch boxes and bowls used for packing and taking out are popular. And people have a sense of conservation, in the restaurant can not eat all the dishes, can also be packed with plastic tableware away, very convenient, can reduce the waste of resources. " The head of Zhejiang Taizhou Fenghua packaging container Co., Ltd. said that the packaging tableware produced by the manufacturer is not only fashionable, beautiful and atmospheric in appearance, but also the food grade raw materials used in the production are very pure and glossy, which can ensure safety and health.

The person in charge said that at present, the quality requirements of disposable tableware by the health supervision departments and manufacturers are very strict, not only for the convenience of use, but also to ensure the good quality, good sealing, high temperature resistance, health and environmental protection of the products

Digital secrets on plastic packaging

Careful friends may find that there is a triangle logo and number at the bottom or side of the plastic tableware. What are these logos and numbers for and what do they mean?

According to experts, the triangle ring sign composed of three arrows represents "recyclable", and the Arabic numerals in the middle indicate the type of plastic. Different materials have different characteristics and scope of application. At present, the order of plastic products is No. 1 to No. 6, among which No. 5 is the most commonly used material for take out packing box.

No. 1: PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is widely used in mineral water bottles and carbonated beverage bottles due to its high transparency. This kind of material is not resistant to high temperature. When the temperature exceeds 70 ℃, it will deform and dissolve harmful substances. Therefore, it is not allowed to use it repeatedly, let alone to put high-temperature food or use it for heating.

No. 2: HDPE (high-density polyethylene), which is less transparent than No. 1, is commonly used in milk bottles and milk beverage bottles, but its temperature resistance is higher than that of No. 1, which can reach 110 ℃, so it can be used for hot water scalding and drinking.

No. 3: PVC (polyvinyl chloride), which is easy to produce two toxic and harmful substances, has been less used for packaging food.

No. 4: LDPE (low density polyethylene) is the most widely used preservative film, which is much safer than No. 3. It can be used to pack cooked food and hot food, but the temperature should not be too high, because when heated to 110 ℃, hot melting will occur, and harmful substances in the material will be dissolved. So when you use microwave oven to heat food, you must first remove the preservative film.

No.5: PP (polypropylene), temperature resistance can reach 130 ℃, because of its high temperature resistance, high hardness, and stability to organic solvents and oils such as acid and alkali, it is mainly used in microwave lunch boxes, plastic cups for drinking water, disposable lunch boxes, which are the most widely used in take out tableware, and the only plastic lunch boxes that can be directly put into microwave heating. At present, all PP can be considered as food grade, and will not dissolve harmful substances under normal and high temperature conditions.

No. 6: PS (polystyrene), mainly used to make bowl packed instant noodle boxes and instant food boxes. Some stores will sell rice snack, but when the temperature is too high, chemicals will be separated out.

Internet rumors are untrustworthy

It is said on the Internet that eating food packed with plastic tableware is harmful to people's health. The reason is that these plastic tableware will release plasticizer, bisphenol A, dioxin, heavy metal and other harmful substances.

This is not the case.

Plasticizers, also known as plasticizers, are used to add hard plastics to make them more flexible and durable. In the past, No. 3 is the most commonly used hard plastic plasticizer, but No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 are all soft plastic, which are elastic and do not need plasticizer.

In addition, bisphenol A is a kind of chemical raw material. Indeed, bisphenol A in food contact materials may be transferred to food. However, No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 materials, which are mainly used in take out plastic containers, do not need to use bisphenol A.

There are also claims that plastic 1 releases dioxins when refrigerated. Dioxin is toxic and carcinogenic, but there is no scientific evidence that No. 1 plastic contains dioxin itself, and it will not be produced at refrigerated temperature.

Some of the other chemicals used to make plastics are likely to be released into food, for example, the plastic container of material 1 contains trace amounts of antimony. However, studies have shown that the antimony content of PET bottled beverages is very low, far below the World Health Organization guidelines on the quality of drinking water, and does not pose a risk to health. In fact, there are also limited standards for some chemicals in plastic containers in China. For example, antimony in No. 1 plastic containers cannot be higher than 0.05 mg / L.

In a word, we don't have to worry too much about the safety of the qualified disposable plastic tableware produced by regular manufacturers. Of course, it's not a good thing to eat takeout regularly. For example, it's hard to guarantee the balance of nutrition and health.

Qualified products shall be selected

So, how to identify whether the take out plastic containers are qualified?

Experts pointed out that the way to distinguish whether the plastic tableware for take out is qualified can be the way to see the appearance, touch the strength and smell. Qualified products shall first have QS mark (food production license of the enterprise), and the surface shall be smooth and transparent without stains, impurities, scratches, cracks, bubbles, discoloration, fading, in addition, it shall not be soft to touch and smell.

If there is a "strange smell" situation, it may be unqualified products. Of course, sometimes it's not easy to distinguish, so it's better to choose regular fast food restaurants or restaurants, because the plastic containers they use are usually more guaranteed in quality.

It should be noted that not all plastic tableware are suitable for hot food. Do not use No. 3 material or unknown plastic tableware to pack high fat food, such as boiled fish fillet, braised eggplant, etc. Also pay attention to the use temperature of various plastic tableware, for example, the plastic container of No. 6 material will become soft at 95 ℃. Not all plastic containers are suitable for microwave heating. The heat resistance of plastic tableware of No. 1 and No. 6 materials is relatively low, so it can not be put into microwave oven for heating, nor can it be used for food that is too hot. If it's impossible to determine whether the take out plastic container can be heated, the food can be poured into the pot and then heated.

In addition, do not reuse disposable take out plastic tableware. For example, take out boxes made of No. 1 and No. 6 plastic should be discarded after use, and should not be used for other food. But not at will.
